Permanent Secretary Ministry of local Government has Warned Teachers against Strikes. Ben Kumumanya, the PS for Local Government, has cautioned teachers against resorting to industrial strikes, saying such actions affect the performance of the students.
The Permanent Secretary urged Education Officers to guide teachers to seek dialogue and lawful channels instead of abandoning classrooms, especially in the third term when students need their teachers most. “Industrial action at such a critical time is not good and it is not in line with the Constitution,” he said,
The Permanent Secretary was addressing District /Municipal Council Education, and Health Officers in a one-day meeting that has taken place at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
